Amazing mountains, serene sunrises, and a spark of fire complete our top photos submitted by readers. Photos of the Day.

Thank you for your support on Earth Day, PopPhotographers! We invited you to upload your finest photographs of the four elements (earth wind, fire as well as water) to appreciate and celebrate the beautiful nature on our earth. This week’s winners from the challenge took us to idyllic lakeside scenes, stunning mountains and cliffs and the flamboyant beauty of the fire.

Today, let’s be thankful for the beauty that the Earth offers–and then consider ways to be more kind to the environment that we call home. It doesn’t matter if you’re working to help the environment or just enjoying the tranquility of the natural world and the outdoors, we hope these photos provide you with inspiration as well as remind you of the fact that Earth is an amazing place to live. Let’s look after it.

If you’d like to submit a photo to be considered, visit our website or join us on Instagram and join us on our (NEW) Facebook group in which we discuss our weekly themes on Mondays.

Prescribed prairie burn

Dave Lemoine’s photograph is a reminder to not make assumptions. At first glance I thought (being being from California) that this was a photograph of wildfires. But his caption clarified that it was actually it was a prescribed burning occurring in Missouri. Burns that are prescribed are a method of managing land in order to limit the risk of flamability later in the fire season, and are quite efficient. The photo of Lemoine conveys force of heat and urgency. The flames hint at the future if we not manage our land properly and an appeal to act swiftly before the fire season starts to set an all-time record.

Waterfront Inn sunrise

Jill Dehlin brings us on a tranquil morning in the summer where the sky is sherbet pink and orange and shines a serene light on the lake as well. It was the two boats that were lonesome out on the lake that enticed me and beckoned me to go into the water in peace and enjoy the breathtaking beauty that is found in this tiny part of the world.

Grazer Bergland

W. Schandor captures the serene beauty that is the hills northwest from Graz, Austria, which immediately made me think of “The Sounds of Music.” For all that there is no better way to enjoy natural beauty than running through the mountains and hills taking in a breath of fresh air while basking in the sun? Singing to the top of my lungs will only be an added bonus.

Morning at Grandview

Wind can be a challenging topic to capture however that’s part of the enjoyment. What can you prove to be the proof of an existence when nobody else is able to see it? Hal Chen’s photo of this stunning valley inspired me to feel the soft breeze blowing over my head as it moved the clouds into the sun’s setting.

Swiss Alps

It’s not a secret that the Alps will always be a symbol of a majestic beauty that is beyond words. Antonio Valente takes us to a icy, forbidden place to marvel. “I was waiting several hours before I could get an image of the mountains,” the photographer wrote to his “PopPhoto” of the Day Facebook group. “Certainly my eyes were honored!”
